Serine/threonine-protein kinase Nek8, also known as never in mitosis A-related kinase 8, is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the NEK8 gene. [5] [6]
Nek8 is a member of the serine/threonine-specific protein kinase family related to NIMA (never in mitosis, gene A) of Aspergillus nidulans . The encoded protein may play a role in cell cycle progression from G2 to M phase. [5]
Mutations in the NEK8 gene associated with nephronophthisis. [7] [8]
Serine/threonine-protein kinase Nek2 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the NEK2 gene.
Serine/threonine-protein kinase Nek6 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the NEK6 gene.
Serine/threonine-protein kinase D2 or PKD2 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the PRKD2 gene.
Serine/threonine-protein kinase OSR1 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the OXSR1 gene.
Serine/threonine-protein kinase 38 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the STK38 gene.
Mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase kinase kinase 5 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the MAP4K5 gene.
Dual specificity protein kinase CLK3 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the CLK3 gene. The CLK3 gene encodes a serine/threonine type protein kinase with a non-conserved N-terminal domain. A long and short isoform result from alternative splicing and coexist in different tissues. Isoform phclk3/152 lacks the kinase domain.
Serine/threonine-protein kinase PCTAIRE-3 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the PCTK3 gene.
Serine/threonine-protein kinase Nek9 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the NEK9 gene.
Centrosome-associated protein CEP250 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CEP250 gene. This gene encodes a core centrosomal protein required for centriole-centriole cohesion during interphase of the cell cycle. The encoded protein dissociates from the centrosomes when parental centrioles separate at the beginning of mitosis. The protein associates with and is phosphorylated by NIMA-related kinase 2, which is also associated with the centrosome. Furthermore, CEP135 is also required for the centriolar localization of CEP250.
Serine/threonine-protein kinase 38-like is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the STK38L gene.
Serine/threonine-protein kinase Nek3 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the NEK3 gene.
Serine/threonine-protein kinase 10 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the STK10 gene.
Serine/threonine-protein kinase Sgk2 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the SGK2 gene.
Serine/threonine-protein kinase, Intestinal cell kinase or ICK is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the ICK gene.
NIMA -related kinase 1, also known as NEK1, is a human gene highly expressed in germ cells and thought to be involved in meiosis. It is also involved in the response to DNA damage from radiation; defects in this gene can be a cause of polycystic kidney disease. NEK1 is thought to be involved in amytrophic lateral sclerosis.
Serine/threonine-protein kinase PCTAIRE-2 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the PCTK2 gene.
Serine/threonine-protein kinase 25 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the STK25 gene.
