Eduvos that is formerly Pearson Institute of Higher Education and Midrand Graduate Institute (MGI) and Computer Training Institute (CTI) is a South African private higher education institution that is headquartered in Midrand, Gauteng Province and that has 12 campuses across South Africa. [1] It offers bachelor's degrees in commerce, information technology, law, social sciences, creative arts, communications and bio sciences. It is also offers a number of postgraduate qualifications including Bachelor of Arts Honours in Graphic Design, Bachelor of Science Honours in Information Technology and a Bachelor of Commerce Honours in Business Management.
The Midrand Graduate Institute (MGI) was founded in 1989 as Midrand Campus, later known as Midrand University. [2] It formed a partnership with CTI Education Group in 2006. [3] CTI started in 1979 as the Computer Training College, later known as the Computer Training Institute (CTI). [4]
In November 2010, Pearson Education acquired a 75% shareholding in CTI, [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] with regulatory approval in 2011. [3] Pearson completed the 100% CTI acquisition (including MGI) in November 2013. [7] In 2019, CTI and MGI were officially rebranded as the as the Pearson Institute of Higher Education. [10] [11] As the Pearson Institute of Higher Education, it grew to 12 campuses in South Africa. [12] [4]
In November 2020, Pearson announced the disposal of its interests in the Pearson Institute of Higher Education (PIHE) in South Africa to a consortium of Stellenbosch Graduate Institute (SGI) and EXEO Capital, now known as the NetEd group. This transition culminated in the rebranding of the institution to its current name, Eduvos. [11]
In 2023, Eduvos welcomed a record number of 9 800 first-year students. [13] In 2023, Eduvos had the most IT graduates in South Africa.[ citation needed ]
Eduvos has 12 campuses located across South Africa, [14] namely the Midrand, Pretoria, Bedfordview, Vanderbijlpark, Potchefstroom, Mbombela, Durban, East London, Nelson Mandela Bay, Tyger Valley (Bellville), Mowbray and Bloemfontein campuses. Each campus offers different student activities and clubs.
Eduvos also offers online and distance learning options. Eduvos Online is a national structure that virtually provides support to enrolled students attending remotely, online, or distance.
Eduvos offers over 20 accredited qualifications, internationally recognised in four faculties.

Eduvos qualifications include postgraduate and undergraduate degrees, higher certificates, and short courses, which are all fully accredited by the Council on Higher Education and registered on the National Qualifications Framework.
In 2022, Eduvos partnered with EON XR to bring AI and Virtual Reality into the institution's teaching methods.

Eduvos is registered with the Department of Education as a Higher Education Institution (No.2001/HE07/008) in accordance with the Higher Education Act, and its bachelor's degrees are accredited by the Council on Higher Education's Higher Education Quality Committee. All of Eduvos' qualifications are registered on the National Qualifications Framework by the South African Qualifications Authority. A number of qualifications are also accredited by local, international, professional, and industry bodies such as the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in the UK. However, it is not registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa, though it is with the Design Education Forum of Southern Africa, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, the Midrand Tourism Association, the Computer Society of South Africa and the Information Technology Association.
Eduvos also received accreditation from the British Accreditation Council (BAC) in 2025.
Eduvos's language of instruction is English. The institution's policy of inclusiveness allows access to students whose mother tongue is not English by offering specialised English language skills programmes, support and training.
