Neptunyl fluoride is an inorganic compound of neptunium, oxygen, and fluorine with the chemical formula NpO2F2. [1] [2]
Neptunyl fluoride can be obtained by the reaction of the hydrated trioxide with gaseous HF and by direct fluorination of Np2O5 at 350 °C or NpO3·H2O at 225 °C. [3]
The compound forms a pink solid [3] of hexagonal crystal system, spatial group R3m. [4] [5] Soluble in water, insoluble in common organic solvents. [1]
