The Utah State Legislature is the state legislature of the U.S. state of Utah. It is a bicameral body, comprising the Utah House of Representatives, with 75 state representatives, and the Utah Senate, with 29 state senators. There are no term limits for either chamber.

Incumbent Republican U.S. Senator Bob Bennett was seeking re-election to a fourth term, but lost renomination at the Republican Party's state convention. As of 2021, this is the most recent U.S. Senate election in which a political party held the seat after denying renomination to the incumbent senator.

While pundits considered the Republican Party a slight favorite to gain control of the Senate, the Democratic Party outperformed expectations and expanded the majority they had held since 2021.
