Manchester Velodrome is an indoor Olympic-standard cycle-racing track in Manchester, England, which opened in 1994. Part of the National Cycling Centre, the facility has been home to British Cycling since 1994, coinciding with the nation's rise to track cycling dominance at World and Olympic level. The velodrome was also home to UCI ProTeam Ineos Grenadiers, formerly known as Team Sky between 2010 and 2019, a period when the team won 6 Tour de France, 2 Vuelta a Espana and 1 Giro d'Italia with Great Britain riders.

The hour record is the record for the longest distance cycled in one hour on a bicycle from a stationary start. Cyclists attempt this record alone on the track without other competitors present. It is considered one of the most prestigious records in cycling. Since it was first set, cyclists ranging from unknown amateurs to well-known professionals have held the record, adding to its prestige, romance and allure. There is now one unified record for upright bicycles meeting the requirements of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). Hour-record attempts for UCI bikes are made in a velodrome.

It was the twenty-second series of the UCI Track Cycling World Cup organised by the Union Cycliste Internationale. The series ran from 1 November 2013 to 19 January 2014 and consisted of three rounds in Manchester, Aguascalientes and Guadalajara.

The Camp del Guinardó was a football stadium in the city of Barcelona, Spain, located in the neighborhood of El Guinardó. It served as the home ground of the club CE Europa between 1923 and 1931. It had a capacity for approximately 19,000 spectators, 2,000 of them seated. In 1960 the stadium was renamed Mostajo Velodrome and ended up hosting regional football as cyclists circled the outer perimeter, thus serving for the practice of both sports at the same time until its definitive closure in 1964.

The Velódromo de la Bonanova was a sports venue in the city of Barcelona, Spain. It was the first velodrome in the city, although it was located in the neighboring municipality of San Gervasio, which in 1897 was annexed to the Catalan capital. Later it hosted other sports competitions, especially football, being the very first playing field of FC Barcelona.

The Nuevo Velódromo de Barcelona, also known as the Velódromo de la calle Aragón, was a sports venue located in Carrer Aragó, Barcelona, Spain that operated between June 1901 and 1903. It was the second velodrome in the city. In addition to cycling events, it also hosted football matches, being the playing field of Hispania AC and X Sporting Club, two of the most notorious rivals of FC Barcelona in the early 20th century.
