This is a list of accidents and incidents involving military aircraft grouped by the year in which the accident or incident occurred. Not all of the aircraft were in operation at the time. Combat losses are not included except for a very few cases denoted by singular circumstances.
28 July
An Indian Air Force MiG-21 jet crashed during a training sortie in Rajasthan's Barmer area. The two pilots – Wing Commander M. Rana and Flight Lieutenant Advitya Bal died in the incident. [150]
At around 10am on the 5th October, a Cheetah helicopter crashed near the town of Tawang in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh, near the Indian-Chinese border. Two pilots were aboard, one of them was killed while the other was injured and taken to the nearest Military Hospital. [160]
12 November
Two World War II-era aircraft, a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress and Bell P-63 Kingcobra, collided mid-air and crashed during Wing Over Dallas airshow in Dallas, Texas. Six people died as a result of the crash. [164] [165] [166]
A Russian Mil Mi-24 attack helicopter crashed into the Black Sea off the coast of Crimea. The Russian Ministry of Defense blamed equipment failure as the preliminary cause. [356]
A Robinson R22 helicopter of the Philippine Navy crashed in Cavite City, Cavite Province. The two pilots were initially injured in the crash but later died of their injuries. [357]
A Mil Mi helicopter of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces crashed in the Santiago de Cuba International Airport, killing 3 crew members. [358] [359]
A Dassault Mirage 2000 fighter jet of the Peruvian Air Force crashed into the Pichu Pichu volcano in Arequipa, Peru. The sole pilot died. [360]
A Bell UH-1 Iroquois helicopter of the Kenyan Air Force crashed in Elgeyo Marakwet County in Kenya. Killing 10 officers and leaving 2 survivors. Among the victims was Chief of Defence Forces Francis Omondi Ogolla. [361]
A Tupolev Tu-22M3 bomber crashed in Krasnogvardeysky District, Stavropol Krai. The aircraft was carrying 4 tripulants when it crashed. Two of them were rescued, while one died and the other was reported as missing. The Ukrainian Military claimed the bomber was downed by their anti-aircraft missile units, while the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed it crashed because of a technical malfunction. [362]

The Libyan Air Force is the branch of the Libyan Armed Forces responsible for aerial warfare. In 2010, before the Libyan Civil War, the Libyan Air Force personnel strength was estimated at 18,000, with an inventory of 374 combat-capable aircraft operating from 13 military airbases in Libya. Since the 2011 civil war and the ongoing conflict, multiple factions fighting in Libya are in possession of military aircraft. As of 2019 the Libyan Air Force is nominally under the control of the internationally recognised Government of National Accord in Tripoli, though the rival Libyan National Army of Marshal Khalifa Haftar also has a significant air force. In 2021, the air force is under command of the new President of Libya, Mohamed al-Menfi that replaced Fayez al-Sarraj.
The Myanmar Air Force, known until 1989 as the Burmese Air Force, is the aerial branch of Myanmar's armed forces, the Tatmadaw. The primary mission of the Myanmar Air Force (MAF) since its inception has been to provide transport, logistical, and close air support to the Myanmar Army in counter-insurgency operations. It is mainly used in internal conflicts in Myanmar, and, on a smaller scale, in relief missions, especially after the deadly Cyclone Nargis of May 2008.
On 26 January 2015, an F-16D Fighting Falcon jet fighter of the Hellenic Air Force crashed into a flight line shortly after take-off at Los Llanos Air Base in Albacete, Spain, killing 11 people: the two crew members and nine personnel on the ground. Thirty-three others, all on the ground, were injured.
