This list of accidents and incidents on airliners by location summarizes airline accidents by state location, airline company with flight number, date, and cause. It is also available grouped
If the aircraft crashed on land, it will be listed under a continent and a country. If the aircraft crashed on a body of water, it will be listed under that body of water (unless that body of water is part of the area of a country). Accidents and incidents written in bold were the deadliest in that country.
In July 2000, a hijacker stormed the cockpit of a Royal Jordanian plane as it was flying from Queen Alia Airport in Jordan to Damascus Airport, Syria. He made the plane return to Jordan. The hijacker attacked a flight attendant too and an air marshal shot him dead. [19]

In aeronautics, loss of control (LOC) is the unintended departure of an aircraft from controlled flight and is a significant factor in several aviation accidents worldwide. In 2015 it was the leading cause of general aviation accidents. Loss of control may be the result of mechanical failure, external disturbances, aircraft upset conditions, or inappropriate crew actions or responses.
