Haloban language is an Austronesian language or dialect of Simeulue language spoken by Haloban people, which is located in Banyak Islands, Aceh Singkil Regency, in the province of Aceh, Indonesia. From the 7 villages on Banyak Islands, this language is found in the villages of Haloban and Asantola.

Morphology

The Haloban language is morphologically of the agglutinative type. This is characterized by the use of affixes such as [ma-], [me-], [um-], [ba-], [basi-], [ni-], [ta-], [pa-], [sa-], and [an-]; infixes [-em-] and [-er-]; suffixes [-an], [-ken], [-ne], [-o], [-mo], and [-i]; confixes [sa-ne], [ma-ken], [par-an], and [ni-i] which play an important role in the formation say, both the role of the basic forms of nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, and numerals. [3]

Basic structure of language clauses Haloban consists of intransitive and transitive verbal clauses. Typology of word order commonly used in Haloban language clauses are S-V-(KET)/ V-(PRO)-(KET) for intransitive verbal clauses and S-V-O/V-(PRO)-O for verbal clauses transitive or in certain circumstances the sequence O-S-V is also acceptable.
