Toxicity

Flephedrone has only a short history of human use and its toxicity is not well established. [4]

Legality

Flephedrone has been illegal in Denmark since December 2008.[ citation needed ]

Flephedrone has been illegal in the UK since April 2010. Flephedrone has been illegal in the Lithuania since April 2010. Flephedrone is illegal in Brazil since 2017 as an analogue or derivative of cathinone. Flephedrone is most likely illegal in Australia as an analogue or derivative of cathinone.

Flephedrone has been illegal in Poland since April 2010. [5]

Flephedrone has been classed as a narcotic in Sweden since October 2010. [6]

In the United States, flephedrone is temporarily listed as a Schedule I controlled substance. [2] It is permanently listed as a Schedule I controlled substance in Florida, [7] Georgia, and Pennsylvania. [8]

As of October 2015 4-FMC is a controlled substance in China. [9]

4-Fluoromethamphetamine (4-FMA) is a stimulant drug related to methamphetamine and 4-fluoroamphetamine. It has been reported to be sold as a designer drug, but little is known about its pharmacology or toxicology. It was first detected from legal highs sold in Japan in 2006 and became illegal to sell or to possess for the purpose of distribution in Japan in 2008. It was initially reported to be contained as an ingredient in some of the range of party pills sold internationally by the Israeli company Neorganics from around 2006 onwards, but this was later shown to be incorrect and this ingredient was eventually identified as the closely related compound 2-fluoromethamphetamine.
