A general election was held in the U.S. state of Iowa on November 8, 2022. All of Iowa's executive officers were up for election, as well as a United States Senate seat, all four of Iowa's seats in the United States House of Representatives, 25 (half) of the seats in the Iowa Senate, and all 100 seats in the Iowa House of Representatives. Primary elections were held on June 7, 2022. [1]
Incumbent Republican governor Kim Reynolds ran for re-election to a second full term as governor. [2] Reynolds won the Republican primary unopposed. [3]
Deidre DeJear, a small business owner and nominee for Secretary of State of Iowa in 2018, won the Democratic primary unopposed. [4]
In Iowa, nominees for lieutenant governor are chosen at party conventions. They then run on a ticket with the gubernatorial nominee. Incumbent Republican lieutenant governor Adam Gregg is running for re-election to a second term in office.

All of Iowa's four seats in the United States House of Representatives were up for election in 2022 and were contested. Republicans won all four seats following the defeat of Democratic incumbent Cindy Axne in Iowa's 3rd congressional district which she narrowingly lost to Zach Nunn. [20]

Paul Danny Pate Jr. is an American businessman and politician serving as the 32nd and current Secretary of State of Iowa since 2015, previously holding the office from 1995 to 1999. Pate is the Past President of the National Association of Secretaries of State. A member of the Republican Party, he also served in the Iowa Senate from 1989 to 1995 and as Mayor of Cedar Rapids from 2002 to 2006. He was an unsuccessful candidate for his party's nomination for Governor of Iowa in 1998.

Robert Mason Hogg is the Iowa State Senator from the 33rd District. A Democrat, he has served in the Iowa Senate since 2007 after having served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 2003 to 2007. In June 2021, Hogg announced his intention to not seek re-election to his seat in 2022.

Robert Sand is an American lawyer and politician who has served as the 33rd Iowa State Auditor since 2019. He is a member of the Democratic Party. Sand was assistant attorney general of Iowa from 2010 to 2017. In 2018, he ran for state auditor, defeating Republican incumbent Mary Mosiman. After considering a run for governor of Iowa in 2022, Sand opted to run for reelection. Sand was reelected in 2022, becoming the only statewide elected Democrat in Iowa.
Mike Naig is an American politician in the state of Iowa. A Republican, he is the current Iowa secretary of agriculture. He became the deputy secretary of agriculture in September 2013. After the resignation of Bill Northey, Kim Reynolds appointed Naig to succeed him in March 2018. Naig defeated Tim Gannon in the November 2018 election.
