<span class="mw-page-title-main">Joint Entrance Examination – Advanced</span> Indian National Entrance Exam for Indian institute of technologies and other institutions

The Joint Entrance Examination – Advanced (JEE-Advanced) is an academic examination held annually in India that tests the skills and knowledge of the applicants in physics, chemistry and mathematics. It is organised by one of the seven zonal Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs): IIT Roorkee, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, and IIT Guwahati, under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board (JAB) on a round-robin rotation pattern for the qualifying candidates of the Joint Entrance Examination – Main(exempted for foreign nationals and candidates who have secured OCI/PIO cards on or after 04-03-2021). It used to be the sole prerequisite for admission to the IITs' bachelor's programs before the introduction of UCEED, Online B.S. and Olympiad entries, but seats through these new media are very low.

Kota, previously known as Kotah, is the third-largest city of the north-western Indian state of Rajasthan. It is located about 240 kilometres (149 mi) south of the state capital, Jaipur, on the banks of Chambal River. As of 2024, with a population of over 1.5 million, it is the third most populous city in Rajasthan, after Jaipur and Jodhpur. It serves as the administrative headquarters for Kota district and Kota division. It was founded as a walled city in the 14th century in the erstwhile Bundi state and became the capital of the princely state of Kota in 1625, following the separation of the Bundi and the Kota state. Kota is known for its coaching institutes for engineering and medical entrance exams, such as JEE and NEET. Each year, over 200,000 students move to Kota to prepare for these competitive exams, earning it the nickname Coaching Capital of India.

Lakheri is a town and municipality in Bundi district in the Indian state of Rajasthan. It is located in the southeast of Rajasthan, around 180 kilometres (112 mi) south of the state capital, Jaipur. Lakheri has been a subdivision headquarters since 2002. Yugantar Sharma (RAS) is the Sub-division Officer and magistrate of Lakheri subdivision. It is the second largest city in the district, after Bundi and 104th largest city in rajasthan.

The Spain women's national field hockey team represents Spain in international women's field hockey competitions. It is controlled by the Royal Spanish Hockey Association, the governing body for field hockey in Spain.

Parattu Raveendran Sreejesh is an Indian field hockey coach and former player. He was the captain of the national team and played as a goalkeeper. Since 2024, he is the head coach of the India men's national U-21 team. He is regarded as one of the best goal keepers in the history of field hockey. Sreejesh played a vital role in the Indian national team's bronze medal wins at the 2020 and 2024 Summer Olympics. He won the best male goalkeeper award at the FIH Awards in 2020, 2022, and 2024.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">World Series Hockey</span>

World Series Hockey (WSH) was a professional league for field hockey competition in India. It was organised by Indian Hockey Federation with the objective to reinvigorate hockey in India. It was contested among eight franchise-based teams consisting of players from India and around the world. The entire event took place on home and away basis culminating into multi header playoffs. Australian Dennis Meredith, a member of the FIH panel of tournament directors, was the technical director of the WSH. It was sponsored by tyre manufacturers, Bridgestone, and therefore officially known as Bridgestone World Series Hockey.

On 10 February 2013, during the Hindu festival of Kumbh Mela, a stampede broke out at the train station in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, India, killing 42 people and injuring at least 45 people.

Haridwar Kumbh Mela is a mela, associated with Hinduism and held in the city of Haridwar, India held every 12 years. The exact date is determined according to Hindu astrology: the Mela is held when Jupiter is in Aquarius and the Sun enters Aries. The event possesses deep religious significance to Hindus as well as other spiritual seekers. Historically, it was an important commercial event and was attended by merchants from as far as Arabia.

<i>Mardaani 2</i> 2019 film directed by Gopi Puthran

Mardaani 2 is a 2019 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film written and directed by Gopi Puthran. It is produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films. A sequel to the 2014 film Mardaani, the film stars Rani Mukerji in the lead role alongside Vishal Jethwa, and Jisshu Sengupta. The plot follows a police officer, Shivani Shivaji Roy's attempts to catch a 21 year old rapist and murderer.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2025 Prayag Maha Kumbh Mela</span> Biggest festival of Hinduism to be held in 2025 at Prayagraj, UP, India

The 2025 Prayag Maha Kumbh Mela, also referred to as the 2025 Prayag Kumbh Mela, is the ongoing iteration of the Kumbh Mela. It is the world’s largest gathering, celebrating a full revolution of Jupiter. It is scheduled to take place from 13 January to 26 February 2025, at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, India. This event marks the completion of a 12-Kumbh Mela cycle and is officially termed a Maha Kumbh Mela, spanning 45 days.

The 1998Blackbuck poaching case is a high-profile legal matter involving Bollywood actor Salman Khan, accused of hunting two blackbucks in Kankani village near Jodhpur, Rajasthan, in September 1998. Bishnoi community filed a complaint against Salman Khan and his co-actors, Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Neelam, and Tabu, accused of hunting two blackbucks during the shooting of the film Hum Saath Saath Hain.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2025 Prayag Maha Kumbh Mela crowd crush</span> Crowd crush in January 2025 at the Kumbh Mela festival

On 29 January 2025, crowd crushes occurred at the 2025 Prayag Kumbh Mela at the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers in Prayagraj, in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. At least 30 people were killed, while 90 others were injured. This is the sixth crowd crush during the Kumbh Mela in the past 70 years.
