The chart below depicts the 100 highest income counties in the United States by median household income according to the US Census Bureau's American Community Survey data for 2016-2020, in constant 2020 dollars. [2] [3] Virginia has the most counties in the top 100 with 18 followed by California with 11; Maryland with 10; New Jersey with nine; Texas with seven, New York and Illinois with six each; Colorado and Massachusetts with four each; Georgia, Minnesota, and Pennsylvania with three each; Indiana, Ohio, Utah, and Washington with two each; and Alaska, Connecticut, Washington, D.C., Kansas, Kentucky, New Hampshire, New Mexico and Tennessee with one each.
