The Regional District of Comox-Strathcona was a regional district of British Columbia, Canada, from 1967 to 2008. On February 15, 2008, the regional district was abolished and replaced by two successor regional districts, Comox Valley and Strathcona.

It is the site of the former post office and steamer landing of Allison Harbour, British Columbia. The Allison Reefs lie in the entrance to the sound; Allison Cone (185m), which is nearby between Shelter Bay and Cape Caution, was named in association with Allison Harbour. It is now protected as part of Allison Harbour Marine Provincial Park.
Tribune Channel is a channel or strait on the Central Coast of British Columbia, Canada, separating the north and east sides of Gilford Island from the mainland. The channel bends around the island's east side, with the mouth of Thompson Sound at the elbow of the bend, opening eastwards to the mouth of the Kakweiken River.
